TLN Motorsports Season Review

138 new Land Speed Racing Records, 3 World’s Fastest Speeds, 61 records set in a single event, 31 records set in a single day and the Bike Shootout N/A 1000cc Class Champion. The total amount of records set now at 302, arguably, but not really, making Greg Neal number 1 on the list of total records set by a single rider. 2015 was simply a historic racing season for TLN Motorsports full of unimaginable success and single season numbers that are simple unheard of. It was the payoff for long days and nights and a tremendous amount of hard work.

The low spot of 2015 was the catastrophic engine failure on the ZX-6R. That bike had absolutely the most successful debut anyone can remember in ages, 59 Land Speed Racing records and 3 World’s Fastest Speeds. While Greg Neal and TLN Motorsports had predicted the bike would be the fastest standing mile and 1.5 mile N/A 650cc class LSR bike before the season began, no one thought it would come so quickly. The loss of the ZX-6R was not one the team was prepared for and it was a major setback in preparing for 2016. With the help of sponsors, friends and supporters we have figured out the issue and currently started the process of rebuilding the ZX-6R. Rider Greg Neal said “The crazy thing is that bike will be faster in 2016 than she was in 2015. For a 600, she is scary fast’.

Preparation for 2016 is all aimed at the Chase to record 311 to honor friend and Land Speed Racing great Bill Warner. 311 for Mr. 311 is the primary goal at TLN Motorsports for 2016. Along with the teams EX-250R and ZX-6R, TLN Motorsports will be racing the Vance & Forstal Racing Hyabusa and the Hass/Serafini Yamaha V-Max. Record 311 is set aside for the V-Max as it was Bill Warner’s favorite bike to ride. The goal of TLN Motorsports is to set record 311 at the Loring Timing Associations Spring Event in Limestone, Maine. Thanks to Fred Vance, Stephen Serafini and Don Hass TLN Motorsports has the needed arsenal to attack more lofty goals in 2016. There is also another possibility as Greg Neal and T. Scott Jones are discussing a possible additional bike for the 2016 season. There is so much to be done to prepare for 2016, but there are huge possibilities for TLN Motorsports.

While all of the concentration is on record 311, there are continuing goals for the upcoming season. Rider Greg Neal has said “We want to end the 2016 racing season with a total of over 400 records set and an additional 2 new World’s Fastest Speeds”. Those are huge goals and most teams would not even attempt them. TLN Motorsports know only one way and it is all out. What will the final totals be when the dust clears after 2016 is anyone’s guess, but I wouldn’t bet against Greg Neal and TLN Motorsports.
