NORTHWEST DRAGBIKE PRESENTED BY MUZZYS
RACE RESULTS: WOODBURN, OR APRIL 22 2006

Near perfect weather greeted NW racers at this year’s first race of the season, as mid-60’s, sunshine, and a tail-wind favored racers all day. Four series classes were contested (Pro Street, Pro Mod, Pro ET and Street ET, as well as an exhibition Outlaw Street class).

NWDB’s 2006 Championship Race Series consists of six events held at the region’s premier dragstrips - Woodburn Dragstrip, Portland International Raceway, and Bremerton Raceway. Five classes are held at each event - Pro Mod, Pro Street, Outlaw Street, Street ET and Pro ET. NWDB is the region’s only drag bike series featuring heads-up racing.

2006 Race #2 will be held at Woodburn Dragstrip on May 20.

Pro Street Winner – Kerry Drost

In the Brocks Performance Pro Street class, the quickest true street-bikes in the NW went at it in this class (similar to Prostar SuperStreet) with limited modifications, 64” wheelbase, on Z-rated rubber. 2005 Pro Street Champion Kerry Drost of Sherwood OR on his 1397 nitrous Busa took the event, eventually meeting NWDB record holder Joe England of Modesto on his stock wheelbase (!) juiced Busa in the final.

Pro Mod Winner – Scotty Pollacheck

A small field showed as many contenders didn’t have bikes ready in time for the race. Pre-race favorites Steve Tuggle (7.42 best) and Eric Robinson (7.59 best) both had issues with their bikes, and NHRA Division 6 standout Scotty Pollacheck of Medford, OR used his Kawasaki ET bike to cruise through eliminations…

Note: Tuggle finally got his Turbo Suzuki working later in the weekend and ripped a 7.45 at 179mph.

A lot of close racing in this class that showcases the most consistent performances. Local racer Mike O’Leary of Ridgefield WA used great RT’s to prevail over the Pro ET field and Jerry Stinson of Medford OR in the final.
