Bike Week Nationals Race Report
“Steep learning curve defines the
weekend for 2006 SuperSport Champion Vince Woska and his younger brother Michael
Woska in SuperStreet and SuperSport Classes.”
2006 SuperSport Champion Vince Woska made his SuperStreet debut on his brand
new 2008 Turbo Suzuki Hayabusa provided by Olathe Suzuki and backed by Brock
Performance Products.
Brock’s Performance Products supplied the aftermarket racing components
and chassis parts for the bike and Brock Davidson provided the technical guidance
and coordinated the special services needed for this project. Bryan Snyder of
Quantum Motorsports built and tested the motor and provided the shop space for
the initial build sessions. Bryan also put in countess hours dyno tuning and
building a base map for the motorcycle. The turbo system was supplied by Andrew
Pierce of Forced Air Systems Technology.

“We spent the last three weeks before Valdosta traveling between our shop
in Lees Summit and Quantum Motorsports shop in Dayton building the bike with
several 24 hour build sessions,” said Vince Woska Sr. “Bryan Snyder,
Vince, and Andrew Pierce, put in long hours getting the new bike ready for Valdosta.
The turbo world is all new to us, so we had a lot to learn in a very short amount
of time, we could not have gotten it done without them.” Woska said.
After the motorcycle was assembled the bike went back to Lees Summit, MO to
get the body work fitted before heading off to the event. “We came to
Valdosta with the bike about 95% ready to go,” said rider Vince Woska
Jr. Beasley Composites sent the prototype 6" over tail which was mounted
on the bike Friday afternoon at the track. Dave Owen flew down at the last minute
and got the electronics and boost control sorted out. “Dave did a great
job installing and setting up the boost control system for us. His knowledge
and expertise is among the best in the business and was a key part to getting
us down the track,” Woska said.

A big part of the puzzle was solved by Drag Racing Legend Brock Davidson of
Brock’s Performance Products for the final clutch ingredients and set
up recipe which helped Vince run a best ET of 8.68 at 174Mph. “We were
pleased to get the bike down the track,” Said Vince Jr. “It was
a steep learning curve and a lot of fun, and we are looking forward to improving
at the Elmer Trett Nationals in Commerce on April 5-6.”
The big surprise of the weekend was rookie rider and younger brother, Michael
Woska on his 2005 GSX-R 1000. Michael came out with the intention of running
in the Street ET and Street Fighter classes but surprised everyone during Friday
testing with a hefty 9.18 at 155mph with a 9.21 backup. This prompted a last
minute move for Michael into his first Semipro appearance in the revised SuperSport
Class.
Michael did well scoring a 7th place qualifying position with a 9.28 in a field
of 18 motorcycles. Michael was poised to go some rounds but he ended up being
taken out by Dustin Clark during round one of eliminations. “I had a great
weekend and a lot of fun and I am committed to the class for the entire 2008
season,” Michael Woska said. “It was really cool running a heads
up class after helping my brother Vince since I was 10 years old. It was a blast.”
The Woska family would like to thank:
Brock Davidson of Brock’s Performance for the opportunity to race for
his organization and for all of the parts support, expertise and all around
knowledge for this project and past projects since we started in 2001.
Dave Kirts of Olathe Suzuki for his support over the years and Walt Bickley
the parts Guru at Olathe Suzuki for all of his hard work to get us ready for
Valdosta.
Bryan Snyder of Quantum Motorsports for building a great engine and contributing
his time and shop space during the build out phase and his family for accepting
us into their home for those three weeks.

Andrew Pierce of Forced Air Systems Technology (F.A.S.T.) for supplying the
turbo kit and working with us during the assembly and installation of the turbo
system for the new bike over the last few weeks, thanks Dave Owen for taking
the time to fly down to Atlanta on a moments notice to help us out by providing
his extensive electronics and tuning expertise throughout the entire event.
Ben Beasley of Beasley Composites for providing the 6" over tail with only
a weeks notice!
