Darren Burnett had a breakout event at the AMA Dragbike Track or Treat Nationals at Norwalk, scoring his first professional win with a final round victory over multi-time national champion Mike Slowe in the Pro Street Final.

A veteran sportbike drag racer, Burnett scored a couple of top-five finishes in Super Street before moving up to Pro Street this season. He negotiated the tricky track conditions at Norwalk and had the most cosistent bike on raceday. He advanced over past winners like Sebastian Domingo and Mike Kovas before taking on Slowe in the final.
