Johnny Dobrin claims another Real Street victory on his Turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa during the MIROCK Bike Nationals event in Rockingham, NC.

Dobrin’s jaw-dropping 7.765 at 186.72 MPH took the final round victory over Teasley’s 7.859 at 185.18 MPH.

Johnny has had a standout season in Real Street again this year, taking five wins in six final round appearances. He continues to lead the points, with a 200 point advantage, and has virtually locked up the 2012 MIROCK championship.

Johnny’s Turbocharged Hayabusa puts its power to the ground through a set of BST carbon fiber wheels. “I’ve been running BSTs all year long, while winning and setting records,” said Dobrin who added “and they look great too.” After winning past championships with hired guns in the saddle, Johnny is excited to be on the verge of winning one himself as the owner, builder, tuner, and rider. When asked about his recent success Johnny says, “It’s been a point of mine to show everyone how solid the Suzuki is. The Kawasakis are great bikes, but let it be known the Hayabusa is healthy, and an important staple of our industry. I think it’s going to take a lot more than one win to dethrone THE BIRD.”

In the Sunday Brock’s Performance Street ET class, Boo Brown, another long-time Brock’s Performance racer, took the win after seven rounds of tough competition. Brown defeated Michael Herman, Jr. with a 9.41 on a 9.39 dial to Herman’s 9.53 on a 9.37 dial.

Brown is one of the most diverse racers on the MIROCK tour, with 600+ round wins under his belt in a variety of classes ranging from local bracket racing to Pro Street. He was even chosen as the featured racer in the pilot show for ‘Pinks Arm Drop Bikes’ a few years ago. As MIR Event Director, Jason Miller, said, “If I had to pick who would win on any given weekend from hundreds of our motorcycle competitors, Boo Brown would be at the top of the list. He is one of the very best bracket racers in the sport.”

Robert Parker made a statement this weekend at his first MIROCK event with his Brock’d out ZX-14R. Robert qualified number one in Crazy 8s with an 8.880 at 151.71 MPH in the first round of qualifying. He did not win the event, but was able to school his teacher Rickey Gadson during eliminations. “Afterwards, Rickey was still ecstatic about running against each other, and said he wasn’t disappointed over the loss,” said Robert.

Robert has made great strides since his participation in the Kawasaki ‘Zero to Hero’ Challenge and attending Gadson’s Drag Racing School - we look forward to watching him progress even more in the future.

The MIROCK Series returns to MIR for the next event on September 29-30, 2012.
