Wanna spice up a party? Invite Mark Conner. Conner's presence in the Pro 1 Funnybike class at the AMA/Prostar PR Factory Store St Louis Nationals seemed to cause everyone to step up a notch. Conner qualified the Alamo City Harley Pro Fueler in the top spot at 6.640 at a booming 211 mph. Points leader Korry Hogan answered back with a 6.58/209 in the first round against Tom Perry. Conner then strapped a 6.56 on Hogan in the semis as Hogan blew up a motor. Glen Nickelberry and Tommy Bolton, knowing Conner was capable of anything, put their best tune-up in it for the final and went from consistant 6.70's to a 6.60 at 210 to win the event. Conner's only hiccup the entire weekend? A broken drive belt in the final.
