TLN Motorsports continues to prepare for 2013: As the 2013 Land Speed Racing season approaches TLN Motorsports continues in its preparations for another assault on the Land Speed Record book.
During the off season options for new bikes were all explored, but in the end the decision was made to concentrate on the ZX-10R the team currently campaigns. That bike set 24 of the teams 36 Land Speed records in 2012. The original thought was to simply freshen up the engine, work on weight reduction and explore one more cam option. With all the past success of that motorcycle, that would be the safe way to head into 2013. We took a different direction. Custom rods and pistons are being manufactured for the 2008 ZX-10R. The design is based on roadracing technology and will be similar to what you would see with the Kawasaki race kit. The valve train is being reworked, a different clutch and oiling package will all be used. We decided that just breaking records wasn’t enough for 2013. Our goal is to be the fastest Standing Start Normally Aspirated 1000cc bike in the world on a standing mile and standing 1.5 mile. We already own the World’s Fastest 650cc. Our thoughts have always been go big or stay home.
Our efforts will be made possible by KWS Motorsports who continues to provide us with unbelievable engine power and reliability. Brock’s Performance will again be supporting us. BST wheels, their short meg exhaust, Alisyn lubricants and Brock’s carbon fiber clip-ons are essential to our success. Vortex Racing provides us with the best sprockets on the market. Ballistic Batteries give us unmatched cranking power with an unbelievable weight reduction. World Wide Bearings provide us with the best in ceramic bearings for our wheels and transmission. Web Cams have been with us from the first day of development on this bike. All of our success is made possible by each of these sponsors.
TLN Motorsports has set 98 National Land Speed Racing records since 2008 (in 29 events). We are chasing the 100 National Land Speed Racing records set mark in 2013. While surpassing the phenomenal year the team had in 2012 will be next to impossible, our goals are set very high. Also the retired 2006 ZX-6rr may just come back and make an appearance or two before the year is over. It is a very exciting time to be associated with TLN Motorsports.
If you want to support us in some way and be a part of our record setting celebrations in 2013, there is still time to come onboard. You can reach us a tlnmotorsports@yahoo.com
Thanks you dragbike.com for keeping our story in the news. We look forward to 2013 and not only making more history, but also continuing to keep the story of Wounded Warrior Project in the news. Our wounded heroes deserve so much from all of us.
Come join us in Ohio for the April ECTA season opener. Can we reach the 100 mark there? I wouldn’t bet against it.
