Team Report: Raycer X Motorsports Update
You know the saying, hometown race where you can have hometown cooking while
sharing all the excitement that is NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle with your hometown
family and friends, big pressure!!
To say the race didn't go exactly as the team had planned would be a bit of
a understatement. Due to a communication glitch with one of their sponsors the
team did not have what they needed to allow Tommy Miceli & the Worldwide
Bearings TL1000 the chance to dance. With Ray Golson not completing his licensing
procedures the Worldwide Bearings Hayabusa needed a jockey... "The benefits
of a multi-bike team coming through already", said Ray.
Friday at Englishtown, new motorcycle and NHRA tech, passed with flying colors,
sponsor decals, applied and looking good, the team is ready to race! Well, here's
where it starts getting interesting, the team does the warm up and the motor
has a strange noise coming from deep within! After brain storming, the team
decides to sit out the first qualifying session and work on the wounded heartbeat.
Not to worry, the team has three hours to fix the motor for the super fast Friday
night session #2 . Unfortunately, time ran out for the the team on Friday so
they worked all night to make the motorcycle the the best it can be for Saturdays
11am 3rd session.
OK, to make a long story short, the motor went back together sounding healthy
but still not 110%. After enlisting the guru guidance of Blake Gann, the team
removed the motor and parked the bike on display (sponsors still need to have
exposure and this situation was no different).
Raycer X Motorsports would like to extend the following THANK YOUS... To Blake
& Shawn Gann, who both took the time to troubleshoot the teams engine problem.
Mike Phillips, Mike offered the team the use of his backup motor, the backup
is nastier than most #1's. Paul "Just Flexing Muscle" Gast told the
team, whatever you need, come get it!

Dave Conforti, Team Manager, "having friends like the Ganns, Mike (Phillips)
and Paul (Gast) is why racing is so much fun for us". The wounded bullet
is being repaired and pumped up by the Ganns, "I have already purchased
a can of spray adhesive to keep me in the seat for when the motor is done"
said Ray.
The team has tentative plans to hit Memphis for some southern hospitality before
attending the Big Go, the MAC Tools U.S. Nationals in Indy over the Labor day
holiday weekend.
You know the saying, hometown race where you can have hometown cooking while
sharing all the excitement that is NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle with your hometown
family and friends, priceless!!
