Suzuki Pro Bike rider wins her first Pro Bike & Sled Series race
Everything came together for Josie Brooks during the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts at the Grand Bend Motorplex over the weekend as the Suzuki rider won her first Pro Bike & Sled Series event presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
After qualifying fourth on her GSXR, Brooks marched through the field of Pro Bike and Pro Sled entries to meet up with Ted Glinny of Milton in the final. Glinny fouled at the line on his Kawasaki Ninja and Brooks, from Melbourne, Ontario, rode to her first win in PBSS competition.

It was a great weekend, she said after the race. We had some shifter issues earlier in the weekend, but with a lot of luck on Sunday we overcame.
Kevin McKay of the Go Faster Racing team from Beachville, Ontario qualified number one with his Suzuki with a 7.627-second pass at 169.36 mph, but lost in first round action.
Brooks, who posted a 8.288, 161.17 in qualifying, eliminated Brandon Satchell of Saint Thomas in the first round, Bob McDonald of Woodstock, Ontario in the second round, and had a bye in the third round to meet up with Glinny in the final. Glinny had eliminated Jeff Lippert of Amherstburg, Ontario, Dave Vandereyken of Acton, Ontario, and Chris Bondi of Aurora, Ontario to get to the final.

Brooks thanked her sponsors and crew after the event.
I have to thank my husband and crew chief Dan Portiss, she said, along with Jim and Joe Bernier and my daughter Jamie. I also have to thank Sarnia Drywall, Tim Hortons, and Silverbird Auto for all their help as well.
Leading the PBSS 2012 Championship Point Award Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products at present is Bondi with his Ski Doo Pro Sled entry and 931 points.
