Guys,

I have a ZRX1200 that I race in Steet E.T. Is there anything I can do to slow the the bike down enoughso I can leave on the last yellow Maybesofter cush drive rubbers, soft rear shockor something like that The way I do it right now is to leave with very little rpm but I'm still too quick for the tree. I'm waiting for the yellow to fully come on but my R/T's just are not as good as I would like. Any ideas

Thanx

Russ

Also try and stage as shallow as possible. Just barely turn on the stage light.

Guys,

Thanks for the help but you might have missed my point. I can work the tree really good, the only problem is that I cut a consistant .480 on the .500 light. I already shallow stage and launch easy but what else can I do to the bike to slow it down another .040 or abouts When I wait for the yellow to fully bloom it adds some time but it's not as predictable as leaving on the first flicker of the last yellow. I'm on the far side of .580's when I wait for the yellow to bloom. Are there any tricks I can do to the bike short of running a 23 inch front wheel

Thanx

Russ

1 try to adjust the clutch lever friction point to further away from the handle bars {being careful not to go so far that it is not slipping the clutch when fully disengaged}

2 bigger front wheelsmileys/smiley1.gif

3 get a lock up and install softer springs (you might be lifting up out of the beams instead of rolling through}

4 air clutch will give you adjustability off the starting line also Edited by: Ken Walker

Stage deeper and leave on full bloom. I have a zrx1100 with zx11 cams and stage shallow at 7500 rpm. Bike is lowered w/ stock wheelbase. Have gotten 1.68 60' and 10.48 et as a 180lb rider. I leave at full bloom and get good reaction times. lean over the front and let it rip with some slip. Trail your feet until your in second.

Russ,

That's what makes street et so challenging. It takes practice and skill to cut a good light. No electronics to make up for rider skill. Get yourself a practice tree and go at it. After about 500 practice launches you might have a better understanding and reaction times will be better.
