Greig, what have you done, now we will have all these International drag racing tourists coming down under checking out our pushback girls, and i suppose theyll want to have a go at Kangaroo dodging and wombat weaving in our braking areas too. (see TOWNSVILLE INTERNATIONAL DRAGWAY) the last bastion of Australian motor sport.

I'll second that !!!
Jungle Jim was and still is the greatest Showman and wildest thing to have ever seen! Between Jungle Pam backing him up, and checking under the car for leaks. jungles near half track burnouts, and front wheels up passes.
dont get me wrong John Force is a showman and character also, but I'd bet if you ask him He could tell you JJ/Pam stories ! lol
as a kid one hunded percent of the reason I begged to go to Englishtown was to see The Jungle Jim and Pam Traveling show and Circus !

Greg, found the same problem at Santa Pod. When I asked where the reverse gears were the guy's in the stand next to me had no idea. Once I explained what the go was, they all wanted to come to Aussie to watch the racing.

Hey Rob...It aint my room mate...I just like watching girls in scant clothing bent over pushing a bike back.....I can see Brandi and the other ladies coming on here telling us we're a bunch of perverts...Damn right we are...lol
Larry....I've been trying to find some Bundy but to no avail..can't find XXXX beer either....damn....I stopped in a little town on the way back from Richmond and called into a bar for a couple of froth top sleeping tablets...They had Newcastle beer on tap...I didn't mind that....
And what the hell's Gazza doing..where are you mate...Have you gone walkabout or something.
And Larry, when I used to help run Benaraby Raceway we used to have to clean the cow pats off the track before an event....

Greig, i know.i know, my first pass on a lay down bike was at Benaraby 1992-93 ,i ran 127mph and aqbsolutely scared the s--t out of myself on the little dip in the braking area, for some reason the sand seems to sit in there like a little trap for the uninitiated, i also seen Gazza with a 140+mph front wheel smoky through the same place, but it was all good fun.

I guess I'm a very lucky guy, Early 70s when Jungle was in his prime I rode with him from the speed shop in Havertown, Pa. to his home in West Chester (I think) in his new Corvette, and Pam had to sit on my lap all the way there. Randy

My biggest front wheel skid was atPalmyra Lazza, sort of wondered why the bike was trying to tip over @ 150+...oops, breaking area waslonger that I thought, let go of the front break idiot..!!! I think it scared you guys more in the breaking area, than me..you, Alan @ company. I remember that comment you said to me. "Garry if you going to do that again, make sure I'm not around when you do..!!!" Sort of hit ma bit later, that I could have bought it big time. The dip at Benaraby was a little bit annoying, but seamingly spectacular for the spectators, when the fast stuff was lifting there wheels off and setting down like an aeroplane landing.
Just remember Lazza, you've had more successfull runs down track...CONSISTANTLY...than Elroy ever has....smileys/smiley4.gif. But if you ever use that ELF racing fuel in the pits again, I'm going to have to get adamn gas mask. Speaking of Elroy, have you heard from him, as I haven't heard much since he sent me his grand plan to come back big and better than ever, awhile back and I sorta wasn't very supportive....smileys/smiley5.gif
Greig, good to hear from you matey, sounds like you're enjoying your work adventure (tax deductible of coursesmileys/smiley2.gif) in the USA. Sounds like all our racing friends in the States are bending over backwards to accomodate you. You know, I wouldn't expect anything less, after knowing these guys and gals for such a long time on DBC.
I hope to get to the US either this year or early next year, but damn I want to go to the land of plenty (plenty of racing that is). I want to see it all..dragracing (cars, bikes and boats-[those guys are crazy}), Nascar..Pikes Peak etc. I'll just have to work out a package of sorts or just come back a few times..heh heh heh.
Anyway, that's it, must go. I'll talk to you guys again real soon,
Cheers, Gazza

You both are correct! I never realized how lucky In was then. Now that I a BIT older I think I was granted a wish from a Genie out of a lamp. And I didn't tell you the rest of the story after we got to the house. Everytime I see a picture of her posted somewhere I get a warm feeling inside. Funny how that is still so clear in my mind. GAZZA, see how my memory eludes me these days, i thought that was Benaraby but then Mackay had the fantastic braking area also, i used to love disappearing into the darkness looking for the torchlight to tell us that the braking area is finished and we are on the grass, great on those dewy nights , ah the joys of racing regional tracks stuck in the middle of canefields .
Greig Frankham
05-05-2004, 07:45 AM
Isn't it the pumpkin patch you have to watch out for Lazza....
but yeah there is some sand that can get across the deep end at Benaraby. Most racers would say how short the braking area was, but it was because it went slightly uphill so looked short. In fact it was full length with another 400 yards of grass before the trees. But from the startline you saw the uphill grade and it looked like the trees were just beyond that....
now...back to scantily clad girls bent over pushing bikes back...LOL

smileys/smiley1.gifI too am a senior citizen and remember the beautiful "little" Jungle Pam. We had several Funny car "clashes" here on the west coast and I got to see JJ race once in a while, but always saw JPam when she would direct the car back. She made me want to be a tight fitting shirt on her!!
I am envious of those that knew her personally, but am so glad you guys brought back those fond memories of Lions, Irwindale and Orange County Raceways. Heck, I even raced at San Fernando Raceway, though I had my older brothers license in 1966!! And those pics are just great!!
Thanxxxx again!!

smileys/flame.gifCould this topic on Jungle Pam get any more dirty or should we sprout it up a bit with some Frankin Whine and is canine friend Lassie stoner Maybe the next time someone sees Pam they should actually create a tv series of her lassie the koala and someone like Frank Sonotra and call it Smack down jungle fever i think everyone who'd watch it would understand it. LOL god that was a funny one =p

So Rob you have a problem with quick dry adhesiveAnyone that knows anything about glue peopleis that you got to put it into a bag in order for it to do the trick correctly. So a better way to put it is to tell an individual to take the Wal Mart sack loops off of their ears before they start typing.smileys/smiley2.gif Also it's nice to see someone interject something new and bizzare into this conversation. Jungle Pam wasn't even a bike chick and I was getting tired of oogling 30 year old pics anyway.....lol On the bright side I believe with my heart and soul that we need a rule change that every team needs at least one push back girl. This rule should take effect immeaditely.smileys/smiley1.gif

Greig: My wife still give me grief over the pictures we took at Willowbank, especially the Harley girls in the one peice spandex suits...OMG...I can still rememeber the mumble pants.
The biggest difference was the girl's attitudes. If you take some scantilly clad girl to the races in the states people think you are exploiting her, in Aus the girls acted like they were ones doing the exploiting, they really had fun with the push back girl thing. That's it, my minds made up, I'm moving to Brisbane!!
