One thing baffles me. In NHRA the majority does not rule (meaning more Suzukis than twins) but in another organization and class the majority rules. So, maybe the Suzuki's should have their way and get as many changes as they can in their favor. After all..........it's more of them than the others. Right

Marc

Yeah..........and until the changes are made to even things up..........maybe those Suzuki guys should start threatening to sit out on a few of those races like I heard. You know..........like a boycott!

Damn it.............I've been wrong on this issue all along. Hell, if it's ok for a woman to change her mind then it's ok for us guys also. I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT ALL THIS! smileys/smiley17.gif

Pro Stock Motorcycle fan-favorite Karen Stoffer was injured Sunday evening in a non-racing incident following the conclusion of the NHRA national event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

According to eyewitness reports, Stoffer was standing behind her team transporter helping direct the transporter of the race team pitted next to hers when one of the supports that holds the back door of her trailer released unexpectedly, causing the trailer door to fall on her.

Emergency officials reported that Stoffer was alert and responsive, had a laceration to her forehead and was complaining of pain in her pelvis area. Man, how things can change...sheesh. My boys and I were visiting with Karen just before qualifying on Saturday.

Hopefully she'll recover soon. Pomona is definitly out which is unfortunate. She'll be back though...tougher than ever. She's a competitor...

.055 or better would have got her the win. I sure as hell don't blame her". Going against the Harley you either need to saw the tree down, or hope the v twin breaks.

usually the 2 best chances you have !!

building a new house , 42 degrees and wet snow ,,, damn wish I wasnt here warming up ,,, .055 isnt a bad light , not good either ,,, a while back at a friends shop we had a BBQ , he has a "life size practice tree , height and distance " I was hitting .024 , too drunk to walk , never done it befor so it must have been beginers luck ,,, on the other hand .024 isnt a good light in some classes ,on some days

Not to take anything away from you Jack, but when your on the starting line with the "gates of hell" about to open under you at the drop of the hammer or getting off the button and you have a race or round win on the line it just doesn't compare to hitting a practice tree, although a practice tree will help...smileys/smiley4.gif

My practice tree has a delay function,to adjust how quick the vehicle
would leave.ie a heavy Cadillac vs a bike. The comparison is how quick
you do compared to everyone else trying it at the same "delay".

Danno I know just what you mean , I raced without a bar for a while ,,, trying to concentrate on the light while knowing if I make a mistake I'll be wearing a bike keeps you on your toes

In the back of National Dragster I saw the stats for all the classes.Just going on memory here but they had round wins/losses, win%, and the % of rounds they had the better light. Vtwin riders have basically cut loosing lights all year, I think Karen had cut the best lights. They didn't give a class avg. for reaction time though, sorry.

I'm guessing here, But it seemed to me that the Harleys suffered more losses due to mechanical problems also.

But yet they are sitting at 1 & 2 in the points.."hmmmmm"

Average Lights for the last two events (excluding red lights):
Reading Vegas
Suzuki 0.0171 0.0388
Harley 0.0294 0.0708

Give the Suzuki guys something else towhine about...... smileys/smiley19.gif

Any mechanical difference that would cause the HD to have a slower RT Is it simply rider difference (RT is the composite of bike and rider reaction) Chip's avg. RTs for the last two events were0.0357 and 0.0650. Angelle's were 0.0230 and 0.0440.

Good questions......Chip has won 3 NHRA races in only 12 months.....This day and age....that is awesome. But he has cut some really bad lights too. Fact: Chip lost 9 first rounds this year with very late lights or red lights. He will get better. Angelle did too. In 2000 2001 2002 she won 1st round 45 times in a row!!!!! Three years straight.....no bad lights no red lights.....45 races!!!! Bob Glidden had this record for 13 years at 40 races straight. No one in NHRA history has ever done better at this. This is after she raced in 96, 97, 98, 99.......It takes a while to get real good at this stuff. Chip will. I get letters, calls, email, every day....from racers that have never been late....never red lighted....win all the time.....why don't I hire them Not many of them do it for a JOB...to feed their babies....make house payments!!!!!! The...most of them do not have to answer to anyone!!!! If they lose....just go home...no big deal. Chip and Angelle must answer for every little thing. Go on TV...tell ..say I am sorry for ALL of the folks that help...For JOB....The United States ARMY!!!!S&S Cycle.....Harley Davidson Motor co.!!!!!! Etc.... If it was easy everybody would be good at it....not just a few.......I say come on in the water is fine!!!

I say that at least once a week. George, I really like your stance on reaction time issues with Chip. If I were in his shoes, I might be shakey at the start but look out in the future. He will be the same way. Good Luck!
