Does anyone else that races Prostar Pro ET this year think that the Sunday entry fee is a rip-off $50 for competition rounds only & no time trial runs on Sunday smileys/smiley7.gifI didn't realize they were doing this until this weekend when I was at Norwalk. That is total b.s. They sure as he** won't be getting $50 for a Sunday Pro ET entry fee from me at Indy!!! At the beginning of the year when Prostar announced their schedule, I was wondering how they were going to fit in 2 complete Pro ET classes per regular weekend. Now I know.

What about the cost for a guy that wants to run pro-et at only one race. I have to get a membership, license, and then pay the entry fee.

Sure that might suck too, but I guess you gotta pay to actually play. Actually I paid for the whole membership thing this year just to run 2 events. Would have been 3 if they still ran at Gateway.

I payed the temp. membership thing in 2004 for 1 Prostar event. If they discontinued doing that earlier this year, it might have been back for Norwalk because I saw some number plates with "8xxx" on them.Edited by: tt6pam

Prostars sunday et program same as always. time runs on sat and race on sunday. The only dif now is instead of having 1 or 2 rounds of elim on sat they have complete race each day. Really there is no dif from before, time run one day, race the next just like all the other classes. There is no time runs for anyone on sunday so they can make sure to get done at a decent hour. Yes i agree it would be nice but it is not set up to get et racers for either day, just like before u must be there sat to get time runs. Sat race is the extra race, if u dont race sat u still need to time run that day to race on sunday. Everyone is in the same boat, no one has an unfair advantage. Srry to hear u did not have fun but their program, their rules. smileys/smiley6.gif That is what makes 2 wheel speed (hardcore) series better. 1k each day and time runs each day smileys/smiley2.gif Hope we see u next race!!!! I didn't say that I didn't have fun. Actually even though I won only 1 round out of 3 classes I entered, it wasn't a bad weekend. It was a typical Prostar weekend for me, plus saw somefriends & acquaintances that I haven't seen since Indy last year and met some new peoplethat post on dragbike.com too. I just resented the fact that it seems that you are paying for 2 classes but getting screwed out ofa couple of time runs. My next registration fee for Indy will be $50 less than for Norwalk, that's all.

Byron is too far for me to drive every month (8 hours), although I did attend their June 3 race. Norwalk less than 5 hours for me and Indy 3. Edited by: tt6pam

I can see Pams point about the two entrys... but I dont know of any National events that allow a Sunday time only pass.... in any class.

Maybe there are some, I have just never seen it.

If you raced all day Saturday, you should have just as good a handle on the dial in as anyone come Sunday morning.

Another way to think about it is like this.... you have allready traveled to the race so that money is spent no matter what. Ok...your there, so nowis it more cost effective to enter two races at this one event, or travel to another

Just a thought..smileys/smiley2.gif

Been that way for as long as I can remember, time trials on Saturday race on Sunday. Only a few years back it was called a gamblers race on Saturday night but you still did not get any extra time runs just show up with cash in hand and race.
<:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
How many of you have won an event with NO time runs It has been done, just keep good records and dial accordingly. smileys/smiley2.gif

Sunday time runs would be real nice but time will not allow for it.

you pay 2 entires and two chances to win money and you are still raicing on both days. why do you need practice runs on sunday last year you practiced on saturday and raced sunday moring. so technically your not losing anything. I am sure a few people don't like it but I know a lot of people love the opportunity to get 2 races in on one weekend. Makes it worth the drive. Plus with all the oney you put up to get to the race, wahts another 50 bucks to race an extra day

Give it a chance Pam, I bet if you won two days in a row you would love it! or even went a few rounds on each day, that would make it worth it!

See you in Indysmileys/smiley2.gif

Could it be that someone likes more TRACK TIME..:)

Wow you actually get to ride the bike more than 3 or 4 times after hauling it 500 miles..

Sorry, Just a thought. Compress some it the wasted / down time to give some riders more track time.

Yeah, and maybe there are a few local people at each event that may not be able to get to the event on Saturday but could make it Sunday. I'm sure thay would appreciate a couple time trials before eliminations begin.

Anyhoo, if I was able to make every Prostar event, maybe paying $50 for the points would be worth it, but I am only attending 2 Prostar events this year. That $50 I could use for one more race at my "local" track, where I could use the points & wherethat portion of myrace budget is getting low for this year.

To all of you that are thinking, "You're already at the track, why not pay the extra $50 for Sunday", perhaps that's just what Prostar is thinking. I bet you arethe racersthat buy back when you race at your local track too.

But now as it turns out I probably have a "sponsor" for Sunday's Pro ET race.Edited by: tt6pam

If only I were good enough to have that happen (win 2 days in a row that is), but not at this point in my "career" unfortunately. Someday maybe I'll be at the same level as aCoulson, Schenz, or Procopio.smileys/smiley2.gifEdited by: tt6pam

If Pro-Star wanted to run a S/C race the Sat evening before Indy... I would definitely pay another full entry to race it.

Entry fees are entry fees no matter what day of the week it is.... travel expenses are whathurt me the most.

Super Eliminator is an exhibition class so we try not to make waves, but we pay full entry, drive 1200 miles and only get TWO qualifying passes on Sat and elims on Sunday. If you are off your game you only get three passes in two days.

we ought to be venting about the poor results postings, slow and no info. In this modern day and we still cant get all the info. Use to get qual. results and round results. Very bad job on prostars part to get info out there. And yes i belong and race prostar events.

Brandi

If you want to see results posted form Prostar, you shoudl email them and tell them. They need to hear form their racers that you want results posted!

Talking about modern day tech. As a weekly Norwalk racer, if Prostar was willing to pay a little more for track rental we could of pitted on the other side of the track that has power for about 500 rigs and they have a live web cam so are families at home could watch what is going on and they also have wireless INTERNET service on the whole property Edited by: Tail Gunner

Pitting on west side would be great but prostar says the track says they need to pit on the east. I am only repeating what prostar said to us when we ask them 2yrs ago why we were pitting on the east side. smileys/smiley5.gif east side sucks, main reason i dont go there when prostar there, but do go to other races there. I only race in the sportsman class and et, they park us so far down u cant hear, plus real pain in the ass for wife and kids to walk back and forth that far very often. Makes for long miserable weekend.

Actually we were on the west side the last 2 years but the east side has all the power hookups fuel pumps good restrooms and showers but I believe that Norwalk charges moreto rentthe east side because of the price of electricity

By the way the sun come up in the east and sets in the west in Ohio too.

Hopefylly, this issue will be resolved soon. We're trying to find the circuit tracks capable of live webcasting. Gainesville's out...still working on Indy and Atco. In the interim, Brandi's idea is great. Especially, at the wireless tracks - Norwalk, Atco... (Haven't checked the others, yet.) somebody w/a pc/mac, send up e-mails.

I don't think everyone in that class has to drive 1200 miles to Norwalk though. I think a couple guys livearound Dayton, OHbecause they race regularly at Kil-Kare.Edited by: tt6pam

There was supposed to be t&t at Norwalk for $12 last Friday but it was rained out. Interestingly it was listed on Norwalk's website as a regular t&t night, but I didn't see any cars show up. I guess all the locals knew it was going to rain.

There were some cars on the other side of the track. The side with the power. On the bike side they wanted 20 to get in even thou it had rained out. I pointed out that its usually only 12 race or watch and then just bailed. Edited by: rosco15

I couldn't even figure out how to get to the other side Friday night just to use the real bathrooms. All the gates I found were closed & had to use the porta potties under the west side stands.
