So what does anyone know about the rumured "Hayabusa" based pro stock motor that DSR and Suzuki is having built I hear that McClaren (formula one) is involved. Will this be a totaly different animal just using the "Hayabusa" name

There have been several articles refering to it over the last few months, some on NHRA.com, Some on other sites, Here isone example

A source close to the team has confirmed with Torco's CompetitionPlus.com that veteran Buell rider Chip Ellis will officially become a Suzuki rider for Don Schumacher Racing as early as last week. An official release is said to be in the works, but what isn't being publicized is once the new Hayabusa engine emerges there could be a second rider added to the mix.

I saw this on Competitionplus.com a few days ago. Edited by: 426m

It is a completely one off pro stock drag racing engine. Suzuki will issue part
numbers for it.

It will be wider than a standard busa motor and will not come close to fitting
in a Hayabusa motorcycle.

the engine is going to fit the o0ld gs chassis. doesn't make since in my book. if ya gonna pay $50000 for an engine ya could afford a newer chassis. smileys/smiley5.gif

... The engine obviously will have a very vertical intake tract, and will not fit any GS chasis.

so its a pro-unobtainium engine like the V-(nobody else can buy) Rod for the Harley team. What happened to Pro STOCK bike!!!! Kinda got lost just like pro STOCK cars,HUH Used to be the bikes had to be purchaseable. Reminds me of the Yamaha R7 that couldn't be bought.

My thoughts exactly....Who could put one of those V/ROD motors in their street bike...Belts all exposed,ect.ect...,someone would get a pant leg or something caught up in all that mess,ya think...JMO...

Shumaker gets the first engine to test. Then the first production engines
go to Suzuki, and will be available to Suzuki PSB racers.
