i wanna give a big atta boy to rob clay. congrats on getting your license to speed!!!!you are the MAN. i had a blast at the track on wed. nite. i used to be a big car freak, and HAD plans on making my mustang GT the fastest around. seeing how much fun you had on two wheels has turned me back into a bike enthusiest. thanks for bringing me back to my roots!! i cant wait till i get mine, we are going to have way too much fun. thanks for letting me, dallas, and jason be a part of your sport and letting us be there to celebrate your accomplishments!!!!!!!! you are the man, and world watch out, cuz the army of ones are coming!!!!!
Bob, Bob, Bob.
You are being much, much to kind. I admire your enthusiasum and high spirit. Thank you all, for the support. and coming out for what amounted to bethe worst display of passes I have ever done in my life, much less seen.
I have to come clean and get it off my chest, Any thing I could do wrong ,pretty much did. Race for ages but when going for the license it all came unglued. Un believeable. Chris showed me the video today, did not know whether to laugh ,cry, or burn it . Have not decided yet.
Before you got there I was feeling kinda sick as I came to the track and it was empty it was gut wrenching, No bikes ,no licensed riders I was about to pack it in when Dean came by and said that some guy`s might be showing up that he knew.
Then I met a racer also from Ocala named Scott and another racer from Jax named Fred and both of them offered to help. they are extremly nice people and I cannot thank them enough. I was not sure after the first two ugly runs from hell, that I would have the goods when the full runs came. Could not get out of third to fourth twice in a row but it was on the moderate runs thank god. Now I was really worried Knowing it was time to get to the real business. Believe it or not I put my Bates boots on and somehow it all came together. Something about those roadrace Sidi`s and the Yamaha is not working for me foot/peg position, tallness of the boot at the top part of the foot or something. It has done this numerous times before as far as missing shifts goes.... But Otherwise I just basically sucked.
Since I was really stupid in the right lane on the bs runs, at the last minute I choose the left lane. thought at this point it could not hurt anyand as you saw it was attained WAAHOOOO !!
Complete and total relief that it was done, over, im in.
I would like to thank everybody The guy`s at tech Jack and Sam, the starting line people for patiently dealing with said idot ! , the staging lane guy, the ladies in the office at the raceway. Mrs Malphurs at the time slip booth,The Track manager mr Robertson for some pointers on the stageing lights and many other things. Bob,Dallas,Jason,Amber,Christine, Scott,Dean , Fred , Freds girl ( sorry I apologize for forgetting her name ) If it was not for all of you It would not have happened.
Bob I am glad you are excited and your friends, it gets me excited and makes it all worthwhile Yeswe needyou in the sport of Dragracing along with all your friends they are all really heads up people, the best. Cant wait for you all to roll out there.
Way to go Rob,
I knew you could do it....Sorry I couldn`t make it...Sounds like you had a blast...That sprocket change made a big differece huhYou might like it better back the way it was....
See ya,
Paul.....
Thank you Paul
Yes that probably was not the time to try the sprocket change. It does help out of the hole BUT, Most of my screwups were at the tree. Im going to try the same gearing Saturday. For some reason I do not think it will be as bad as the wed nite test fiasco. Think I was just trying to hard. My friends and others got me mellowed out for the last runs that counted and it started to smooth out.
Almost glad you werent there to see it Paul. But you could of had some good laughs. I have never seen Gainesville so slim on bikes like that night. There were some streetbike guys there, just not many licensed pilots.
Got my sixty foot to a 1.690 do not know if that is good for just a front strapped bike or not. Anyway hope to see you all Saturday.
Like youre new avatar Paul, tell Delores hi

So come on Mr Clay, where's the piccy's....
Sorry Sprake
I have no digital pictures yet at the track. Maybe this saturday. I do have a very short video I may be able to lift pictures off of but im not sure how to get that done just yet. my buddies are going to try and help me this weekend with some picture taking, maybe video , not sure.
She still has great mph ( to me) 147.68 and one thing I did improve on was my rt`s Im not down quite where I want to be but it seems they are pretty consistent. Lets see what else .... Oh thats no Bs About those boots Garry I know it may sound bizarre and I agree on that but it is the Gods honest truth.
Ummm Oh yea Its not that my runs were so bad but, I redlighted my first two Passes because I was staging so shallow Too shallow and I guess i was not fully set and somehow I would just move the wheel a bit and lose the light. Then of course the next two not getting it out of third kinda punked me.
Once again the Yammi bailed me out of trouble, somehow she makes up her mind and will not let me look bad going down the track. We are getting used to each other and she is hovering at 9.80s right now. For some reason some people do not think its stock, Guess I can understand why. She Hauls Ass
So Matey, You have a lot to look forward to and Im counting your days with you. Do you know when in May youre picking it up And how is miss Joy
... Hey Rob, if you wanna go over 150 MPH you have to go down to two intake valves !!!
Funny Roland, very funny. After reading some of your material, I can see you really like the five valve head better though, so I know who I`ll send all ourbuddies Yamaha heads to LOL . As a Mechanic I would rather work on a two valve motor I suppose too, Heheh.
Another funny thing, is, The throttle got stuck the other night and it was doing 185 before the 1st turn off , with plenty of room left to brake. so next time the throttle sticks I know she can go further on the gas. If she gets to 190 I`ll tear it down and see if some valves fell out. BAhahaahaaaa
Later gater
man, rob that must have sucked when that sticky throttle got stuck. i hate it when that happensHANG ON COWBOY
Yeah right! I bet the throttle got stuck! It got stuck with Rob,s hand!heheheheheh
