I am trying to get my turbo suzuki to run properly. I am using a dyna 4000 pro (the older style not the super pro) and one of the new dc9-2 coils and a crank trigger. The bike has a misfire that I can't get rid of when it is running, I'm getting spark to all four plugs but the 2/3 plugs looklike they are firing properly whereas the 1/4 plugs look slightly wet. The crank trigger is new and I have unplugged everything from the 4000 box and I am running it directly from the battery. The only time this thing sounded right was when I ran a dyna S straight from the coil.
Anyignition wizards out there that can help me out
sounds like you pick up coils are out of sync, you need to trychecking the timing, each coil is timed individually, best to use a degree wheel but can do with bike running and a timing light but must go above i think 3000 rpm to get full advance mike
You can swap the #1,4 and #2,3 triggers wires and then also swap the coils around. Run the Bike, if the problem then switches to the #2,3 cylinders I would supsect the trigger and/or the ignition box. If the problem does not switch cylinders, swap everything back to normal and look elsewhere.
the old Dyna 4000's took a dump quite often, being it's 6-7 years old, it might have died....
I finally got it figured out. The place I got my parts from sent me the Dyna Sbillet timing rotor instead of the 4000 rotor.I swapped out the rotor with the correct one and it runs like a champ now.Naturally it was the last thing I checked.
Thanks for the help guys.
