    Hi,

I don't know how many here are into ATV sand drag racing but here goes......

Does any one know of a math formula that help me calculate a certain
over all gear ratio to obtain a desired engine RPM at the end of a 300ft track.

If I am not explaing this correctly............... I basicly want the engine to turn a specific RPM at the end of the track.

But what do I need to calculte this Is it tranny ratio Final drive ratio Tire roll out Or do I need all of these

I calculate what MPH I need and back figure from there.

I would assume you would need max RPM at end of the track.

mph needed = rpm of rear wheel Xsprocket ratio x final drive ratio(or whatever gear you want to end up in) X crank/clutch gear ratio= motor rpm.

You also need to know circumference of rear wheel to calculate rear wheel rpm need to obtain mph needed.
