need some help, would like to know the difference in 2 types of needles,
FBG2 and FB2XLH any info would be helpful thanks ed
only place to get that is at FBG aka Fast By Gast ,, Grand Island, New York
those are their own needles
Which brings up an interesting point. Back when all the needles had just numbers on them you could pull out your handy-dandy Lectron guide and see exactly what the needles were and it wasn't too hard to see which one worked and where. Now FBG is coding them, are we expected to call Kevin everytime we want to make a needle change We need to slap these up in a CMM and see what they are.
I know the "XL" is for extra long. They are used in the bigger bore carbs, like the 50mm version that I am using.
hey Bill , I heard they dont have nearly as many needles available today , has that ever effected you ,,,, sooooo many years ,, seems like it was 2-0 that worked best for us
Jack: We have used a fairly small range of needles from 2-0 to 3-2, but everyone knows what those are and how they work, I have a set of 50mm carbs on order, what is going to work in those And do you know what carb or engine combination an FBG2 will work in This probably started with the H2 needles which turned out to be very similar to3-1 needles. Its just the thought of taking someone elses word for what works that bothers me, even if the person is a lot smarter than me or has more experience. I have always run on Dumb Luck so if some smart guy starts telling me what will work I am lost.
the needles came out of a set of 44's that came off a 2 valve kaw motor.
planning to use the 44's on a 4 valve 1500 cc
