I'm in final stages of completion of my 1/8th mile bracket bike a 1988 Honda CR500R stock engine, 68"wb, 65" bars, Biondo delay box w/shift output, Walker electric shifter, hyd. clutch w/line-lock release, 5.5 M/T slick, strut rear, 3" ground clearance. Any 2-stroke fans still around out there can give me some idea what perf. to expect from this critter Bike is approx. 255lbs. wet, rider a svelte 205 drunk or sober. Also intrested in any info regarding super or turbocharging 2-stroke applications to keep my intrest level up once the new wears off.

IDBA record for 500cc singles was held by David Greathouse in the high 11s, he wasn't a lightweight but his motor was ported as opposed to your stock unit. Two strokes can be force fed but its not done very often, its so much simpler to bolt up a nitrous kit and you getthe same results. Although a blown two stroke sounds really cool.

just remember you'll need a blower of double the output volume of a 4 stroke ,, turbo 2strokes in sleds make serious mph ,, no reason not to try it !

David ran from about 1997 till 2000, believe that would be a GG/D record or maybe an HH/D. There are some guys on this board who still have the old record books.

1995 book does not have David's records, but it has:

    GG/D Danny Mullins 9.77 @ 132.08

    HH/D D.J. Rahn 11.66 @ 106.62
