I am interested in rebuilding a GS1000 motor. Currently the stock
engine has 25K miles of street use...and seems to have pretty loose
tolerances. It sounds like it has a good bit of piston slap (hot
and cold) also. My goal would be to make a little more power,
with the potential of more down the road.
I have just started researching this, and looked around the web a
bit. I am having a hard time finding the necessary parts.
Is this something worth doing If so is now the time, due to
limited availibility of parts
I have been told from a few ex-racers that the motor is worth having on a street/strip bike.
I am new to motorcycles and would appreciate any help.
Thanks much
