I need some info regarding the transmission differences between the 01'-04' 1000 and the 05'. I know the ratios are different (in the wrong direction of course).

What I need to know is: Are the cases, centers, shift drum and forks the same as the earlier models.

I have had requests for 6 speed auto drums and need to know if these model years will interchange. Any info would be appreciated.

there is some difference... actually the gears are longer on the 05. i dont know if the entire tranny swap would work but i wouldnt want to do that even if it did.05 pumps out more horses and to put those long gears on an 01-04 model would definitly slow it down.

My idea was to make a gearbox withdifferent ratios to fit all the models if possible.
