i picked up a 86 1100 this winter and started messing around with it to day went for a ride for the first time on it and noticed that it seams to load up or somthing after awile. the guy said it is2mm over stage 3 jet kit, it has a yosh pipe on it. It was sitting for awile so i pulled the carbs off and will clean them this week what is a good starting point forthe adjustments is there any way to tell ifthey really has a stage 3 in them, what plugs should i run thay are j9a they dont look too bad but i will put new ones in anyway. Also i have heard there is a timing retard on these bikes if so can it be bypassed some how.

    thanks for the help

Usually if u have a stage 3 jet kit u dont have a stock air box. Also take the top of the carb and there will be neddle with 3 different setings on them.I hope this helps out

THE 38MM MIKUNI FLATSIDES WILL WORK BETTER ON THAT 1100, VS THE STOCK 36MM THATS ON THE BIKE KNOW, AND ALSO THEM 125 MAIN JETS SOUND LIKE STOCK JETTING TO ME, THATS PROBLY YOUR PROBLEM, NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL TO THAT MOTOR !!!!!!!!!!!!
