Thread: which ingnition to buy ??

    I am building a new bike and not sure which ingnition to get I heared dyna is coming out with something new this summer (to late)! MSD has mc4 butI have heared of some problems with that one. The schnitz box, I had the top gas box on my last bike and had some auto shift problems time to time and the two step sucked. So what to do Any sugestions

    Depends what features your want. When I last looked, the MC4 had the best timing control I could find. If you don't need this, I would keep looking. There was no support from MSD. Ray never did send the connector as promised. It needs some added parts to make it all work, which could have been done in the software. I did not get much of a chance to use it last summer, but so far it is holding up just fine.

    What do you get with the mc4 Pick up Wiring harness Coils Plug wires

    You get a wire harness, an RS-232 cable to plug it into your PC and a CD with their software. No pickup, coils or plug wires. Also, no mates to the pickup connector on the harness or any of the relays that you may need to cobble into the system to make it work right. I think your going to find this is the same with most. You buy the parts you need. I use the Dyna Pro for a pickup which MSD claims will not work. You do need the single magnet rotor if you use it. I use the same MSD red coils that I used with the MSD 2 I had.
