I'm looking for a shop in the Chicago area who does engine high performance work. Want 1216cc kit (11:1 comp)and related engine work for a 99 Suzuki Bandit street bike. Don't want to pull engine. Need to ride in and ride out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Edited by: Gregg

I run a 1216 shootout bike. ALL my work was done by the guru of gixxers, Speed Products in Oak Lawn. 708 425 1188. Dick Speed is the master of these motors. My bike has run 9.00 @ 151.73 on motor and 8.40 @ 169mph on the bottle.
What I like is the fact he does all the work himself. No flunkys touch your stuff.
Hey, thanks a lot. Actually I had him build a wicked1166 motor for me in 1981 on my 80 GS1100L (rare 16 valve low rider chain drive). As soon as I broke that motor in I got to check it out in a police chase out of Harvey,IL After I got out of jail...(out ran them but didn't hide long enough-those were the days!)
Anyway,when I wrote the original post I was thinking of him but thought he may have went out of business. The last time I saw him, he was on the near north side of Chicago.I seached the internet for a couple of weeks and finally got his number yesterday and called him up. That's a guy I trustwith ton's of experience and I know he will do the job right. I think his magic is in his headwork. Thanks again. Edited by: Gregg

Is anyone familier with Alberecht's Fast Track of Des Plaines, IL or JDM Performance of Streamwood, IL How would you rate them
JDM Performance is a lot closer to me (I moved from Chicago to McHenry,IL) and I can take the whole bike in without pulling the motor.Is JDM in the same league as Dick Speed Don't want a serious drag bike but anicestreet machine. May go as far as a small shot of gas with the motor just for kicks.Edited by: Gregg

jdm also races at 2wheelspeed,also fast bikes,the real kz goro is tom klemme at klemme performance motorcyles in davenport ,ia/not chicago but worth the car ride to his shop
