Tornado just misses Dragbike Live Studio/many homes nearby destroyed

    Well thereis
not much to say except this was close! Very close, too close and the
Dragbike Live.com studio missed this one by the hair of our chinny chin
    chin’s!

First I would like to send our condolences to all that may have lost
loved ones int he severe storms and tornado’s that struck the east
coast, here in North Carolina we had over 20 people that lost their
lives. Saturday April 16th 2011 will live in the memory of everyone that
was involved or near the devastation that occurred.

What is mind boggling to me is this came out of no where and I mean
no where! There was no warning till after the first of two tornadoes
struck and that came in the form of sirens which sounded like air raid
sirens. I was actually outside watching the wind blow as it had for
nearly all night and admiring the weather.

It was overcast and misting rain and no signs of black clouds in the
sky. Then all of a sudden the wind picked up at least 20-30 mph, power
went out and the rain came down so hard you could not see past 20 feet
    in front of you.
I was back inside by this time and actually said “GOOD GOD! That was...............

Glad to hear you and yours are OK, Doug. Sincerest condolences to those who lost loved ones in this disaster. As a tornado survivor myself (the Plainfield tornado in 1990 that killed29 people in Illinois), I can relate to what you just went through. It happens so fast, it just doesn't even seem real.

That's how Larry McBride feels about the 1/4 mile...
It is too bad bench racing is not measureable. That way someone would win.

Tornados are pretty dramatic. The whether back east can be pretty lethal compared to our earthquakes.

During the Northridge quake, which I believe killed less than 100 people, the north east experienced a severe heat wave that claimed over 200 people. You didn't see that on the news because there were no buildings destroyed.
