On average what is the target rpm to have the slider completely locked up at? I understand that it is fact dependant upon a lot of variables so lets go with these details.

    <DIV>Weight: 600lbs</DIV>

    <DIV>Gear: 15-48</DIV>

    <DIV>Engine: 1500cc inline 4</DIV>

    <DIV>Trans: 6speed 1-4 auto</DIV>

    <DIV>Tire: 10" slick</DIV>

    <DIV>Fuel Sys: Electronic Fuel Injection</DIV>

    <DIV>Two Step: 5,500 rpm</DIV>

    <DIV>Air Gap:.050</DIV>

    <DIV>Normal 60': 1.15-1.18</DIV>

    <DIV>Shift RPM: 10.250</DIV>

    <DIV>Appx HP:200hp</DIV>

<DIV>As I said I understand that each setup is different but there has to be a ball park figure of what I should be working toward. According to the data logger we are locking up at about 8,300-8,500. As bad as I hate to admit it I really haven't learned the basic's of the slider very well like what the difference is in increasing the installed height on the hat springs as opposed to adding weight to the arms (provided that you alreadyhave enough to completely lock up the clutch) at a given rpm. Does increasing the spring pressure at the hat(lowering spring height)not require more weight on the arms to keep the clutch locking up at the same rpm? I'm so confused! LOL</DIV>

Cannot give true info but the higher the launch 2-step RPM the less total lock-up you get.<div></div><div>Whether by more spring or more weight on the arms you will be closer to driving through the clutch. Keep thining the normal launch rpm is closer to 4500 to 5000.</div><div></div><div>Keep thinking they use really light springs to avoid needing so much weight on the arms. Regardless it is entirely centrifugal that locks up the clutch.</div>

You should just call me! Your bike is making way more than 200 hp. If you want to be able to hammer the tree your Launch needs to go up. You didn't post spring height or weight but it really doesn't matter. Leave the weight where it is and turn the springs in 1.5 turns. That should get you to 5800-5900 launch, play with the weight from there. If the springs are getting close to coil bind get you some taller springs. Don't try to get to numbers on your computer screen. What works works and that's where you want to be. I know we are helping create a MONSTER and one day we'll regret it.

    Thanks Matt!

<DIV>I'll have to agree with you on creating a monster but so far the only thing that monster is attacking is his dad's check book! LOL We are getting an education but we're having a ball along the way. The price of racing is high but being able to go out and spend weekends at the track with some great friends and your family is priceless! Lookin forward to seeing you at Indy.</DIV>
