I was incorrect. The Elmer cartoon was done by Australian Graham Slapp. I have about five Slapp originals hanging in my office. I have one Puppet that he drew, then gave to me because I wanted to use it to make a T-shirt.
My wife had them professionally framed, so I will have to see if I can take them out to scan them.
One of the best that Pup ever did was of Jim McClure. Jim had been at some Harley race when there was a shooting between some of the clubs.
Pup drew a toon of Jim hiding behind a oil drum in the pits as bullets are flying everywhere. Next time I talk to Jimmy McClure I will ask him if he knows where that one is.
I will always cherish our phone conversation shortly before he passed. He had been through so much in the rehab center but had a good outlook. He had battled several serious infections but was optomistic about getting well enough to get around again. He was the ultimate role model for not giving up.
