    Quickest SOHC cb750 Drag Bike?

I'm looking for some help with remembering a motorcycle parts selling company advertising 750 Honda clutches. Ad stated that it was used by someone on his high 8 second SOHC Honda drag bike. Trying to find who has gone the quickest down a drag strip on gas with one of the SOHC motors. My memory isn't what it once was...

That would be a twin engine.

If your talking about a typical dragbike and not a fueler or double engine its around a 9.60. Have to take a look at the old IDBA papers but there was an older guy who ran one in S/E and from memory he was in the mid 9s.

Rick Stetson ran a 9.1 on one back in the early pro stock days. As I stated, on gas, not alcohol or nitro. I believe that someone went low 8.90's or high 8.80's on a SOHC single engined gas drag bike. My memory of it was from an ad for the clutch that he used in some bike parts company ad. If I had to guess, early 90's?

I think the Gary Pena ran some 8's on his pro-stock bike.

There's a current effort to take that ET record. I held their cylinder head in my hands at Valdosta. I won't bet against them. They can do their own announcements when they're ready.

This would be the quickest I remember. I can't remember if he used our clutch.

What was the displacement ? I was looking at some IDBA rule books from the late 80s and the D/D record was in the mid 9s

I seem to have this same recollection. I guess it pays to be an old west coast drag racer?
