The separate "second chance" eliminator is how we did it. Just as the racing surface of the track should not be submitted to non-racing activity after the event starts, the eliminators should not be affected by anything but racing after the events start. Looks like we agree on the competition end.

]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~So True, Tom....Sad thing is, as in my other post, Most of the "Newbies"(not sure what it takes to be a newbie these days) Have Little or NO Interest in "How the SPORT was Born".....Many either forgot, or never knew Anything, about the Real How & Why of "Old School".............Many Just Don't Care!!!!..........Some of the posts on this Topic have showed clearly that They are "All about the Money"....."Brake Light Bracket Racing" Just isn't the way Folks used to RACE....... Used to be folks Raced to Win, and for Pride of Doing the Best they could in FAIR & EQUAL COMPETION FOR ALL RACERS, NO MATTER WHAT BIKE HE/SHE CHOSE TO RIDE!!!!!.........AMDRA added "Dial Your Own ET Brackets" & the Junior Racer to help open the Sport to more Motorcyclists Long Ago. That was before all the Cheater Boxes, and Guys Sandbagging to get an edge...A Racers Best Time in Trials was used for the Dial-in, and "Sandbagging" = Disqualified!.....Even tho the Old School Thread here is Still the Biggest, and a long Running Topic (Thanks again to Marc for starting the thread), They Just Don't do it like that anymore....\The Declines of the Sport Show That Clearly.....Without a National Program to unify Rules, Records and Officiate Races, the Sport We Loved so much, and Gave so much to, will not be able to grow or perhaps even exist outside a few local Tracks and Local "Series Races"........Kudos to AHDRA for Hanging on, BUT they're H-D ONLY,& Not much help for any other Racers.......I've already said far too much on this Topic, and so few Care, I'm just over it.. Fini !!!........Roy, Founder/Director AMDRA, '66-'76 (Director MAMA '66)

FELLOEw RACERS : We are the smallest group in two wheel drag racing an with that a fact we-all with saddness in our hearts see the sport we LOVE taking a hit in the lanes. Their is NO RIGHT or WRONG at any race that the four wheeler let US come to have a chance to get in the other lane AGAINST ANOTHER BIKE and wait for that second yellow bulb to light , so we, and we alone make the next few seconds the BEST SECONDS in the life we are living on any given DAY ! Just dream of that green light ON at the end of your 1320' and the smile on your face when you turn off the end to the return road back to your crew and fellow racer giving you the THUMBS UP for that pass you just made to get that win ticket ... feels DAMM GOOD, RIGHT ?. When the count for the STREET BIKE and the SUPER PRO BIKE gets low then the track owners will have one class only " BIKES " with the SUPER PRO BIKES winning most every weekends. My fix for that will be to buy a TIME ONLY tech card and make many solo passes in between all the Car,Truck, Dragster, JR.DRAGSTER and ONE bike class = bet I get 5-6-7-8 runs [ seat time ] with 5-6 -7-8 tickets that I can race myself every pass [ I'LL JUST PUT ON MY DIAL-IN and SHOW THEM THAT NUMBER ON THE BOARD ] no win light but a feeling that numbers that small can mean a lot.. .000 a perfect light. I got the bike, trailer, motorhome so why not a weekend of TIME ONLY RUNS ?? Better than sitting at home watch 2012 ELECTION BULLSHIT EVERY 15 MINUTES ON THE TUBE. Will the day come when a grand kid will ask his POPS what that thing sitting over there in the corner with them 2 wheels and numbers on the side, and his POPS answer will be your grandpa when he was alive spent many days on the road chasing a dream he had about wining a thing called "MOTORCYCLE DRAG RACING " he passes away long ago with a smile on his face and a fist full of run tickets. DAMM HE WAS A HAPPY MAN.

Buy backs are after my time. As bad as I was at bracket racing I could have used them to add more money for the other racers.

MOTORSPORTS FOLKS : As my girlfriend watched the last lap win of number #48 Jimmy Johnson at the BRICK YARD 400 Sunday and her driver #18 Kyle Busch getting second she yelled out " BUY BACK " and I said to her he would lose in the second round if he did not put a CHEVY motor in that car from the " RISING SUN ". On those long drag races [ like the short ones that HD wins back to back with 6.80's on PRO/STOCK BIKES in 1320' ] those CHEVY got the HOREPOWER ADVANTAGE so does HARLEY DAVIDSON. Question to ask ?????? LOOK TO ME AND HER that half the seats at this biggest NACAR race were EMPTY , or could it be said HALF FULL ??? I WONDER DID THEY CUT THE PURSE ????
