Look out guys! I had the opportunity to race up in SC at Orangeburg this past weekend ( wow! what a track!! exceptional surface! exceptional people!!)
Looks like a lot of guys are interested in running this race......I also heard that there are more than 25+ street bike guys committed to run from around here so far.
We were also able to secure some additional sponsorship $$ towards the purse!!
    This is gonna be Fun!!

Thats awesome that you got some extra sponsors on board for this!

I remember when Nopi ran at Rockingham back in 2005. I was new to drag racing (bikes) and took my Buell down there. At the time it was my streetbike.
I made about four passes, my last one of the day in TNT (i didnt run a class) I ran a no-bar Kaw. So that run was the first time I ran 8.0 in the 1/8th mile. The guy on the Kawasaki went 8.0 in the 1/4. Humbling for sure haha But it was fun and I had the best seat in the house for his 8.0 1/4.

Im trying to get down there for this race. I was big into cars when the Nationals were around, and this is closer than the old location (ATL Speedway, about an hour or so further south), so this seems like a good deal for me.
I do hope many people come out for this, hope its a big turnout and they keep the classes around for the bikes

Mirock rules in Pro ET don't allow boxes but AMA rules used to - sounds like i conflict. I'll read the link to the rules you posted.. We might try to make this one since you came to our home track at Orangeburg.

Ok, i just read the rules and unlike MIROCK, electronics (delay boxes) will be allowed in Pro ET. Its a good opportunity for dragbikes regardless to the box, no box debate to be a part of this race.

Maybe yall could talk to them about pitting as well....

So dragbikes have to pit at the very far end of the parking lot? Well beyond the 1/4 mile line? Thats bogus to me, sorry, but it is.

It is the AMA Dragbike Pro ET rules. We will get that changed.

As for the parking it was all they had left as you can see the entire track is pretty well taken up. The way I looked at it was they are giving us a place to race where we did not have one before, so lets go with the flow and make the best of it. Who knows if we get enough bikes maybe next year we can have our own parking section closer to the staging lanes.
It is too bad bench racing is not measureable. That way someone would win.
