The Fastest Open Motorcycle at Bonneville

2017 BONNEVILLE MOTORCYCLE SPEED TRIALS, HIRO KOISO RACING BECAME THE FASTEST OPEN BIKE ON THE SALT.

At the annual Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials AMA Land Speed Grand Championship, Hiro Koiso – builder, rider of the bike- set three new land speed records on 2006 FXD-I based land speed race bike. JIMS 135″ TWIN-CAM engine was topped off with billet cylinder heads from T-Man Performance. C1-R ProCharger has been custom fit for assaulting the salt, the bike boasts 378HP to the rear wheel.

“We had a rough start on preparing for 2017 racing season since the high-speed crash in 2016 racing. Which destroyed the majority of our equipment and took 4 months to recover from the injury” Koiso said.

Which directed the team to focus on going after non-streamlined (open bike) records for 2017.

New chassis configuration worked flawlessly.

The team managed to set new record (pending ratification) 216.818mph in 3000 A-PBG class over 177.539mph previous record held by Wink Eller since 2013.

Later in the week, the team upped the speed to 226.100mph in AMA 3000 A-PBF class and a new FIM world record 227.236 mph (365.700km/h) in Group A1, Division A, Type II, Class 2500cc. (pending ratification)

This is the fastest open bike record set at the Bonneville Salt Flats in any class or manufacturer. The team allegedly became “the fastest naked bike on the Salt”.
