Hale to Vie for
Pro Bike Title Under Cornwell Tools Banner
Cornwell Tools
new sponsor for Blaine Hale Pro Stock Bike team
Blaine Hale of Midland,
Texas, the personable contender in NHRA's Pro Stock Bike category,
recently announced the formation of a new team under the banner
of Cornwell Tools. Blaine has geared up for the 2003 NHRA/POWERade
season with his Cornwell Tools team; he'll campaign a newly
built Suzuki in the hotly contested two-wheel category.
The youthful rider
is no newcomer in Pro Stock Bike. He is recognized for his many
past achievements on a Kawasaki. While all but a few of the
other contenders were on Suzuki bikes, Blaine campaigned his
Kawasaki, with which he finished in the NHRA Top Ten in 2000,
and won the prestigious NHRA Best Engineered Award in 2001.
New
Course of Action
"But weĠre on an
entirely new course of action now," the 26-year-old rider stated
about his affiliation with Cornwell Tools and Suzuki. "With
the benefit and committed backing of a solid company like Cornwell
Tools as our sponsor, the new Suzuki GSXR1100 ride and the valued
dedication of people like Vance & Hines Motorsports, weĠre very
competitive in this hotly contested field - we're eagerly optimistic
about our chances in the NHRA POWERade points competition in
2003."
The Suzuki GSXR
is a Kenny Williams-built bike that sports the GSXR1100 bodywork.
The Vance & Hines Motorsports engine is a 1500cc, 2-valve configuration,
and produces over 300 horsepower. Blaine acknowledged the help
of his father, Clayton Hale, who has worked side-by-side with
his enthusiastic son. Clayton is an automotive and drag racing
expert who will continue as crew chief of the Cornwell Tools
Team.
Based in Wadsworth,
Ohio, Cornwell Tools is and established name in the industry.
The company has been a major supplier of professional hand tools
since 1919, offering the full spectrum of the highest quality
products for the professional automotive technician. Cornwell
Tools penned a 2-year sponsorship agreement with Blaine Hale,
covering both the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Blaine has a colorful
career in NHRA Pro Stock Bike competition. He got his license
at age 19 after completing the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School.
He is the youngest rider ever to qualify for a national event,
and he holds many event wins and track records. The year 2003
marks his 6th year in Pro Stock Bike competition.
Now 26 years old,
Blaine has his target set on earning the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock
Bike World Championship title. "We've got the sponsor, a very
competitive Suzuki, a great team, the best crew chief, and all
the knowledge it takes to put our bike in the winner's circle."
