Product Review: Brock's Performance Clutch Cushion Kit
By Jack Korpela

Motorcycle bracket racer, Kevin Adams installed a Brock's Performance Parts Clutch Cushion Kit in his Hayabusa and was astounded at the immediate improvements.

"My sixty-foot times got a lot better," Adams said. "Once I got used to the bike my riding and consistency improved dramatically. I was able to leave at a lower rpm and my clutches lasted three times as long."

In the short time Adams has utilized the product he has completely dominated the Rockingham motorcycle bracket series. Adams won Pro ET on consecutive days during the fall race, and won an unbelievable 12 rounds of competition during the spring race in Pro ET and Street ET. Adams attributed much of his success to his new clutch cushion.

"The Clutch Cushion has helped me so much," Adams said. "It has taken my consistency to a whole new level."
Adams was pleased with the way the clutch cushion remained compatible with his motorcycle even when they increased the displacement of the motor.

"We beefed up the engine and the clutch still worked great and was as reliable and consistent as ever," Adams said.
Adams was so pleased with the product that he added it to his back-up bike.

"It is a great part and I recommend it to anyone serious about drag racing," Adams said.

Adams testimony and on-track performances are further evidence that Brock's Clutch Cushion Kit is a quality product.

This product (Brock's Performance Part Number: S13-CCK for the 1999-2001 Hayabusa or S13-CCK-02 for the 2002-03 models) can be obtained from Brock's Performance Products which specialized in a vast array of performance products for Sportbikes, for racing and street applications.

With the Clutch Cushion Kit, the clutch actuation is COMPLETELY chatter-free. There is no longer a need to oil your clutch plates before heading to the track with the hopes of getting a couple of smooth passes in before they start acting up. This feature alone saves the stock Busa owner a considerable amount of work, time and hassle.

Another feature is noticeably increased clutch life due to the addition of BDE engineered clutch springs designed specifically for this application.

In big-displacement/high torque applications, the results are multiplied even greater. The modified-engine Busa owner has been frustrated in the past due to the unpredictable action of the clutch when additional power is applied. Billet-this-and-that help some, but they are only band aid cures.

The problem is in the clutch design, it is a mechanical problem....the BDE Hayabusa Clutch Cushion Kit is a mechanical cure.
Kit includes:

  • 1- BDE Dual-Stage Clutch Cushion.
  • 1- Cushion Ring
  • 6- BDE Load Control Clutch Springs (specially designed, no spacers required) (Staggered Assembly..... Four: BDE-HD Two: BDE-EHD)
  • 1-Clutch Cushion Kit assembly instructions.
  • 1- 6 position BDE Clutch Lever Cam.
  • 1-spare spring detent ball for the Lever Cam.
  • 1-Lever Cam assembly instructions
