RAY TAKES POINTS LEAD IN BID TO REPEAT AS
MOTORCYCLE CHAMPION
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – With his convincing
victory in the inaugural Cycle Concepts "School's Out Bikefest,"
Salisbury's Doug "Underdog" Ray took a big first step toward
successfully defending his championship in the Mickey Thompson
Performance Tires World's Fastest Street Bike Series at Rockingham
Dragway.
Ray won the first of four races in the
series from the No. 1 qualifying spot and posted quick time of the
event to earn the maximum 119 points. Next event is the annual Schnitz
Summer Sizzler, July 27-28.
In the Rockingham Dragway/Maryland
International Raceway "Combo Series," Rockingham winners Joseph Long
of Hialeah, Fla., and Johnny "Airtime" Locklear of Fayetteville are
the early points leaders.
