CAROLINA FANS READY TO ROCK AT THE SCREAMIN’ EAGLE PERFORMACE PARTS NATIONALS PRESENTED BY THE CAROLINA HARLEY-DAVIDSON DEALERS ASSOCIATION, ROCKINGHAM DRAGWAY, OCTOBER 4TH AND 5TH.

AHDRA is mere days away from a jam-packed weekend of record-setting racing for thousands of fans expected at Rockingham Dragway.

Known as “The Rock,” the famed dragway has undergone recent improvements, including resurfacing of the quarter-mile strip. Track owner Steve Earwood says he hopes to claim record runs on the track from the huge field of competitors expected.

Last year’s Screamin’ Eagle Nitro Harley field netted 27 entries vying for a spot in the sweet sixteen to compete in eliminations. This year should be no different, with a healthy list of pre-entries already in at AHDRA headquarters.

The Carolinas are home to many of the fan favorites in Harley drag racing, including Mark Cox, Jay Turner, Bill Furr, Tii Tharpe, Travis Lummus, and Tripp Nobles, to name just a few.

Another North Carolina native with enormous presence at “The Rock” is Ray Price, who has been absent from racing as a result of injuries sustained earlier this year in Las Vegas. Price won’t be sitting out on his hometown event, though. The Ray Price Racing team will be there with a substitute jockey on his Nitro Harley machine – and Price fans will still get to visit with “The Legend” himself.

The action gets under way on Saturday, October 4th, with qualifying at 9:00 a.m. On Sunday, sportsman class eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Pros at 12 noon.

Admission to the Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Nationals presented by The Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association is $40 for the weekend; single-day passes are $25. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate, and children under 12 are admitted free of charge.

Spectator camping is welcome the entire weekend for an additional $10, and Saturday night there will be live entertainment featuring “The Smyle Band.”
