Dave Beck
Racing - 6th British Championship
Dave Beck Racing
is proud to announce that the win at the weekend's Santa Pod
meeting resulted in Dave securing an unprecedented sixth ACU
British Championship in the Pro Stock Class.
US racing commitments
resulted in Dave being able to contest only four of the six
rounds in the UK. Despite this, the team secured wins at all
four meetings, built on a foundation of four number one qualifier
spots. This dominant performance was enough to secure a sixth
title, against competition with a two round advantage.
In addition to winning four rounds, Dave set new ET and speed
benchmarks for the class earlier in the year, turning in the
first sub-7.3 run outside of the US, with a new European ET
record of 7.29. A new terminal speed record of 183.07mph was
also set.
In the ProStar
rounds in the US, Dave has also continued to make progress,
posting qualifying times in the 6.8 second bracket at Indianapolis.
With two championship rounds still to run in 2003, in Alabama
and Gainesville, Dave has high hopes of improving on this
mark and making a strong impact on the eliminations.
Plans for 2004
are already well underway, with a new Roger Upperton motor
making its debut last weekend. Discussions with potential
sponsors are also well advanced. The British Championship
will be defended and the US campaign on the MRE / Beck / Upperton
Pro Mod will also continue. In addition Dave is considering,
subject to sponsorship discussions, contesting at least one
European Championship round with his record breaking Pro Stocker.
