Team Muzzy
News From Las Vegas
While qualifying
for and winning a race is certainly the primary goal of any
racing team, there are other measures of success and Team
Muzzy was the proud recipient of one such honor this past
weekend at The AC Delco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals run at Las
Vegas Motor Speedway.
The ”Hedman
Hedders Best Engineered Vehicle” award is given at each
national race to the race vehicle selected from the Pro classes
by NHRA officials, including tech, competition, National DRAGSTER
and track announcers as exhibiting the best construction and
engineering. Considering the “competition” Team
Muzzy is truly honored to receive this award. The award carries
with it a slightly smaller version of the famous “Wally”
trophy and a $1000 cash prize.
Things were not
as happy on the race track however, as the Team Muzzy Kawasaki
ZX-12R Pro Stock motorcycle failed to qualify. The bike is
very quick and competitive in the first half of the race track
but can’t quite sustain the needed acceleration at the
finish. The Team’s best qualifying run was a 7.463 second
pass at 178.68 mph. This was only .052 seconds off the time
needed to qualify. The bike is reliable and stable and The
Team remains hopeful that we will get in the field at the
last race at Pomona, Ca, Nov 7, 8.
