The
world finals was a great race as usual and with 36 Pro Mods shooting for the 16 bike
field, we knew we had our work cut out for us. We came to the track with a totally new
engine combination and no test runs since Indy.
Our first run qualified us temporarily 2nd right out of the trailer with a 6.94 and
slightly wounded one cylinder. The second run finished off that cylinder but still ran a
respectable 7.02. In the last session in the cold air we got the tuneup right and ran a
nice conservative 6.95 and held on for number three qualifier. Our first round was against Nathan Murray who always runs tough. A .437
reaction time got us the advantage off the line by nearly .04 seconds but the bike was
slightly off pace from qualifying due to higher temeratures and our 7.08 came only .004
seconds shy of beating Nathan's 7.04.

crew my brother Craig, Alan Geetings, Mike Van Sant, and all the sponsors. Without them we
