Treble
Returns to Final Round At Vegas Divisional
Las Vegas Divisional
Race Report: Craig Treble picked up right where he left off
in Nevada last weekend, parking the winning Pro Stock Bike,
then putting the Matco Tools Bracket Racing Suzuki into the
final round of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at "The
Strip" in Las Vegas.
Unlike NHRA POWERade
Nationals where professional qualifying is based on Elapsed
Time, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events use reaction
time (R.T.) to qualify the Kerker Sportsman Motorcycles. Craig
Treble settled into the No. 7 spot with a .010 R.T. after
three rounds of qualifying, following No.1 qualifier Greg
Liskey who posted a perfect .000.
Treble's return
to his bracket racing roots gives some insight to his popularity
he enjoys as a professional "I just love to race"
Commented Craig. "Getting back and bracket racing gives
me some seat time which always helps, but the plain fact is
I like hanging out with these guys and racing. The competition
and camaraderie at the division level is great."
Treble opened with
a victory's over No. 17 qualifier Roy Barrera in round one,
and No.2 qualifier Larry Eperjesi from lake Dallas, Texas
in round two. After winning a .0147 Margin of Victory race
over Joe Collette in round three, Treble took a semi-final
bye before facing No.1 qualifier and good friend Greg Liskey
in the Kerker Vegas final.
The championship
round was all Liskey as the veteran rider nailed the tree
with a great .001 R.T, then ran a 9.646 on his 9.57 Dial In.
Treble wasn't far behind running 9.038 on his 8.98 Dial, but
a .067 R.T from the Matco Tools Rider put him too far behind
to challenge Liskey for the finish line.
Like Craig Treble
the week before, Greg Liskey also qualified No.1 and won the
Vegas event. "Congratulations to Greg on a great race,
and thanks to Kerker for putting together this series at the
NHRA Division level."
