Quickest Quatermile Streetbike
I am Markus "ROTTI"
Rottensteiner, record holder since 8 years now in doing 1/4
Mile Races here in Austria. It´s really a pity that
this kind of motorsport is not that popular as it is in the
US. We drive our races on simply blocked off roads or small
private airports. The race organisations mostly do not allowed
to do any kind of burn out stuff. There are about 10 different
races all over Austria, but I´m not able to drive all
of them, because the braking area is too short or ends with
a turn ( I´m sure you know its fucking dangerous to
do this with a powerfull, stretched and lowered bike...).
1989 my father began
to race with a big bored Suzuki GSXR 1100. At this time with
the age of 16 me myself was far to young to drive races, because
in Austria you have to be 18 to get a licence. 1991 i did
a race myself for the 1st time on a 175 HP Suzuki GSXR. 1993
i won the International Dragster Cup ( IDC-Series) in Berlin
and Nürburgring with a Honda CBR 900 RR ( Streetbike-class).
Since 1995 I´m
the inoff. recordholder of the austrian 1/4 mile. From this
year on til 2001 i won most of the races with my Suzuki GSXR
7/11, 1300 cc, NOS, 221 RWHP)
2 Years ago i bought
my Kawasaki ZX 12 R (an accident wreck like all the others).
I built it up with the following elements:
Suzuki GSXR front
forks, Honda CBR 1100 XX wheels ( 3,5" front and 7"
back ), Honda Triple Clamp, Gilera Scooter rear brake,Homemade
Swingarm...
Last but not least
i orderd from Schnitz Racing a Dyna Shift Minder with Light,
Schnitz progressive Controller, Muzzy Airshifter and Sidewinder
Exhaust, lowering links and front Straps, M/T MCR 2, Barnett
Clutch, WOT Switch, RPM Activated Switch, NOS Parts, and many
more...
At this place Iwant
to thank Ryan and Amy from Schnitz Racing for all their support
and help during the last 1 year just as the zx-12r.org for
all their advice.
Beside this Ialso
own a naked Honda CBR 1100 XX (X11), 202 RWHP (thanx to Honda
Austria and J.Faber) and a naked ZX12R for the streetbike
class (thanx to moto rotti racing). During the last 1 year
sweat and work was neccessary so that my Kawasaki ZX12 has
now 247 RWHP with NOS (without 186HP) with orig. Pistons!!!
My best E.T. this year 1/8 mile 6.24/198 km/h and 1/4 mile
9.32/268 km/h (no sticky, but normal road and rolling burn
out)
My purpose 2004:
breaking the 9 sec mark, more HP, cc and bigger NOS Jetting
and most important getting a handfull of sponsoring partners
to make all this possible.
