Another Race, Another Win

Stotz racing is enjoying a great season as we have won again this weekend at NHDRO’s Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. This race put the Stotz Racing Honda team to the test many times as Friday night just before the 1st qualifying session, we heard a noise in the top end of the motor that was getting worse. We decided to forgo the first round of qualifying and change engines before anything catastrophic happened. Thank you to our friend Kurt Sikora of Sikora Precision who not only fabricates a lot of the parts we use but also jumped in to help us late into the night.

Saturday morning the brand new motor hurt a rod bearing in the 2nd qualifier. This is the first bearing failure since we’ve had the Marine Crankshaft cranks. As I said, this tested us, but we prevailed as we changed motors again between the second and third qualifier. This time our friend Steve Nichols of Maxx ECU jumped in to help us. As great as Steve is on a computer, he is a good wrench too. We qualified fourth and went into Sunday’s eliminations still needing to improve our times. The Stotz Racing Honda team rose to the occasion once again and dropped our times setting low ET of the meet and winning another race.

We are truly grateful for the help Honda, and all of our sponsors have given us to win these races. Robinson’s transmissions, JE’s Pistons, Falicon Rods, DC V-Twin’s heads, M2’s shocks, MicroBlue’s coatings and the Maxx ECU making the magic happen. Frankie padded the points lead by taking out #3 in points the first round and #2 the second round. The Championship is not a mathematical lock yet, but we will do everything possible to secure another Championship with two races to go.
