The top ten Orient Express Pro Street racers from the 2021 XDA motorcycle drag racing season were invited to compete in the 25th Haltech World Cup Finals presented by Wiseco at Maryland International Raceway.

Sponsored by Platinum General Services, Rodney Williford, Justin Shakir, Jason Dunigan, Darion Payne, Jordan Haase, Greg Wallace, Kenny Brewer, Ryan Bonitatis, Curtis Brown and Ryan Hable represented the ten bikes competing for eight spots in qualifying.
Many riders stated this was the biggest crowd they had ever raced in front of. After qualifying, series champion Rodney Williford picked up exactly where he left off in the XDA season qualifying number one, with a stellar 6.446 at over 229mph.
Local favorite Darion Payne, from nearby Fredericksburg, VA qualified second with a 6.521 with DME Racing’s Jason Dunigan rounding out the top three with a 6.541. The remaining qualifiers were Wallace, Hable, Shakir, Brewer and Bonitatis.
This event would also produce a new winner as the previous two winners, Ryan Schnitz in 2018 and Jeremy Teasley in 2019 were not in attendance.
A capacity crowd stood in awe and amazement as the Pro Street riders ripped down the world-famous Maryland International Raceway quarter-mile.
However, no one was expecting the numbers we saw in round two of eliminations on Sunday. Rodney Williford ran a stellar 6.451, taking a holeshot victory of Greg Wallace, who ran a career and event record of 6.425. However, it was his 236.05 mph, the World’s fastest run ever recorded in Pro Street history in a losing effort.
In the finals, it would be the number one qualifier, Williford, against the number two qualifier Payne. As the dust settled, it would be Rodney Williford continuing his winning streak at Maryland International Raceway.
The social media buzz about the show that the Pro Street bikes put on at the World Cup Finals is only adding to the level of interest into the 2022 XDA season, which begins April 22-24 at Maryland International Raceway for the Platinum Fleet Repair Spring Nationals.
