The titles were contested by elite racers from the Gulf region, the wider Middle East, and the United States of America.

Unusually, competition in this round was limited to just two days after the cancellation of the qualifying sessions that had been scheduled for last Wednesday due to poor weather conditions. As a result, practice sessions were shortened and mostly held on Thursday, while Friday witnessed marathon racing action leading up to the final races, which ultimately saw eight competitors crowned with their first titles of the season.
