Thunder Valley Nitro Nationals Pre Race
On Thursday close to three dozen Harley drag bike teams entered the pits at Bristol Tennessee’s Thunder Valley Dragway in preparation for this weekend’s AMRA sanctioned event, the Thunder Valley Nitro Nationals sponsored by PennGrade 1 High Performance Oil, to be held August 11-13, 2023. By Thursday night the pits were looking healthy, and we weren’t even sending bikes to the lanes.
So why did so many teams show up early on Thursday, the day before the event began? Because this is Bristol baby and the AMRA Pro Nitro bikes are ready for a Thunder Run and the Sportsman drag racers are hungry for a great racing surface and facility. The pits are clean, fully paved, and well-marked. The showers are open 24/7, and racers feel welcome here, that’s why. Bristol is a top-shelf racing facility set to welcome racers and fans alike.

The test and tune on Friday will run from 3 to 8 PM, Saturday qualifying will begin at noon and Sunday’s elimination rounds are slated to begin at noon. All run times are tentative and subject to existing racing conditions.
