More Rounds of the 2021 Summit Racing Series Announced
January 23-24 / South Coast Raceway
February 27-28 / Perth Motorplex
March 12-13 / Sunset Strip
The Australian National Drag Racing Association is pleased to confirm more dates of the extended 2019/2020/2021 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.
Following this weekend’s South Coast 660 at South Coast Raceway (January 23-24), the Series will travel to the Perth Motorplex for the Westernationals across February 27 and 28, before Mildura will host the Twilight Nationals across March 12-13.
The confirmation of these dates for the 19/20/21 season, which has been extended due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and boosted with a record prize pool thanks to Summit Racing Equipment, means the Series will continue moving forward.
ANDRA continues to work with venue owners and operators to confirm the date and track for the Summit Racing Equipment Grand finals, and hopes to make an announcement regarding this in the coming days.
“The last 10 months have been exceptionally difficult for Australia’s drag racers, our supporters and our sponsors as we have all dealt with the ever-changing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Brett Stevens, said.
“We are very pleased to be able to today confirm these dates for our extended season and look forward to being able to share with you the details for the Grand Finals once we have the date and place confirmed. I can say at this stage that it is highly likely they will be held in Victoria before the end of March 2021.
“In the meantime, we look forward to visiting South Coast Raceway, the Perth Motorplex and Mildura’s Sunset Strip over the coming months as our competitors pursue a record prize purse of more than one hundred thousand dollars thanks to Summit Racing Equipment.
“With COVID-19 continuing to impact almost everything we do here in Australia, we would like to thank our community for their patience and support during this challenging time as we have sought to put together the best possible conclusion to this season amidst constantly changing conditions.
“As we look forward to crowning our champions for this season, work is also well advanced on plans for the 2021/2022 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, and we look forward to sharing these with you in the near future.”
