BEETAR & STANLEY – AUSTRALIA – ENDORSE S&S PRO STOCK V-TWIN POWER IN ANDRA PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
S&S Cycle is pleased to announce that Australian racers Lance Beetar of Hostile Takeovers and Steve Stanley of Hot Rod Choppers will team up and endorse S&S engines by competing in the ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship Series (Australian National Drag Racing Association). This follows the announcement on October 5, 2005, that Brett Stevens Racing, of Brisbane , Australia , is also endorsing the S&S Pro Stock V-Twin power plant.
The 160 cubic-inch S&S billet Pro Stock engine has been making a name for itself in the highly competitive NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class. This field is comprised of the best in the USA , and the S&S engine has carried five bikes into the elimination rounds in the last two NHRA events. Ryan Schnitz of Team Muzzy has won twice this season with the S&S power plant. The 60-degree V-Twin features bore and stroke numbers of 5.100″ X 3.875″, a four-cam design, 9,000-plus rpm limit, fuel injection and a six-speed cassette style transmission. It has all-billet construction-except for the cast iron cylinders-and breathes through a dual down-draft independent intake system. It has consistently powered Buell motorcycles constructed for this class through the 1/4-mile at times in the low 7.0s and at speeds over 190mph
The motorcycle for Beetar & Stanley will be an S&S powered Buell built by G2 Motorsports of Americus, Georgia, USA . While the new team’s name and sponsor are yet undisclosed, they plan an official announcement in December 2005 and a launch dinner in January of 2006. The new S&S Pro Stock powered bike will be prepared at Hot Rod Choppers on their new SuperFlow dyno. Currently the plans are for Lance Beeter to ride and Steve Stanley will be the crew chief, assisted by Branko Andrijic and Adam Layton.
“As team owners, we are excited to have the chance to compete at the highest level of motorcycle drag racing in Australia ,” said Lance Beetar. “By combining our experience, resources and expertise, we hope to continue the racing success already achieved by the S&S Pro Stock powered G2 Buell,” said Steve Stanley.
“East Coast Custom is pleased to be associated with the Lance Beetar / Steve Stanley Race Team through the purchase of their S&S / G2 Buell Pro Stock Motorcycle. Members of this Australian Drag Race Team have raced various USA V-Twin motorcycles in several Sportsman classes, using S&S Proven Performance parts, and we wish them every success in Pro Stock Motorcycle,” said Neal Bolam of East Coast Custom. “The team followed the progress of these bikes in NHRA races and feels ready to try their hand in the ANDRA Championship arena. G Squared Motorsports build a great race bike and offer tremendous support both direct and via their Australian Distributors. We are very pleased with the performance of the S&S 160″ Prostock engine this year and know it will inject new enthusiasm into Australian Pro Stock Motorcycle racing.”
“I am enthused about the possibilities that sit in front of this new team,” said S&S Senior Manager of Racing and Customer Services, Charlie Hadayia . “With the start of a new Australian racing season coming soon, this newly built team will have a lot of challenges and expectations placed on them, but S&S racing support will be there for them-even half a world away.”
