Cycle Werkz Challenged in Rockingham
Man Cup Rockingham was a challenging race for all classes, as greasy track conditions kept everyone guessing on tune ups. In only his fourth race on the Scott Crawford tuned, Cycle Werkz/DME Racing turbo Hayabusa, 21 year old Brandon Mitchan stayed cool in the blistering heat, pedaling the bike down the track when the tire failed to find traction in the 140 degree surface temperature.
Qualifying in 6th with a 7.22 meant starting behind the eight ball and getting the right lane, by far the trickier of the two. With more than a little bit of luck, Brandon made it all the way to the finals before spinning and losing to Mark Paquette, who had the track dialed all weekend.
Two finals in consecutive races means the next step is the top of that podium! It wouldn’t be possible without the help of our sponsors. The whole crew at Dme Racing, coming to the line in the finals and helping with technical support all weekend. Skip at Orient Express, and Steve Upchurch cylinder heads. Special thanks go out to big and little Chris Connelly of Pro Stock Inc!
