John Henry Lawson Mullikin – March 25, 1969 – July 31, 2021
On Friday, July 31, 2021 motorcycle drag racing world lost one of its own. Johnny Mullikin, a member of the Legion of Doom team, passed away. A man with a bright smile and even brighter personality, he was loved by many who had the honor and privilege of knowing him. His love of motorcycle drag racing was only surpassed by his love for his wife Deanna, his family, and his friends.
XDA and Maryland International Raceway announcer Fabian Brown said, “When I was informed of Johnny’s passing, words can’t describe how shocked and heartbroken I felt along with those of us who knew this remarkable man. I always looked forward to seeing his smile and his happy demeanor on race day. I along with all of us in the drag racing family will miss him.”

Investigation – Help Needed
On July 31, 2021, at approximately 3:05 pm, patrol officers responded to the intersection of Brandywine Road and Floral Park Road in Clinton for a single-vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed John Mullikin was heading eastbound on Brandywine Road, when for reasons that are under investigation, his moped went off the roadway and into an embankment. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

For those of us who had the honor of being around him, he always had a smile that could brighten up anyone’s day.
