The Mid-Season is here and Dustin Lee with his new Vanson Leathers has made a statement, saying ‘Come Get Me’!  Leading the 2015 Dragbike.com BAMF by 9 points ,or 4 wins and 1 runner-up,  depending on how you want to look at it, you would think he is a clear winner for 2015.

However if we look back to the 2014 chase Ben Knight was leading by 7 points at this time and ended up finishing in 3rd place. We still have over 10 major events left in the season and guys chasing Dustin can take it away from him if he doesn’t stay on his game. And in racing, that can change at any time.

The current points leader had this to say, “I feel very blessed to have the season I’ve had so far. My plan is to keep my head down and keep digging to as many final appearances and championships as I can! I would be very happy with a top five finish, but as always I expect 100% from myself and would love to be #1!”

Ben Knight, Donnie Huffman, Shayne Proctor, Chad Isley and John Markham are real contenders for the BAMF title. Donnie Huffman who has 8 points still has a potential 2 points to be added from his last win at the AMRA event. We are still waiting to get a bike count verification before his points can be added. 

Ben Knight who helped create the BAMF series wanted the title bad last year, work required him to miss a race that potentially could have given him the title. This year he vowed to win as he continued to build additional bikes to race over the winter. This weekend he will miss the NHDRO Indy race due to working in Sturgis. Ben is currently second in points in two NHDRO classes and typically visits the winner circle when he is in Indy, so its very possible this race could end up being very costly down the road.

Proctor, Isley and Markham are all veteran races that can be found waiting in the lanes late at night, waiting for another round of competition while many racers have already returned to their hotels for beauty sleep.

In the next three weeks the competition at NHDRO Indy and Man Cup Rockingham will be fierce. We are looking forward to seeing the competition put the pressure on Dustin.

2015 Rules and Information

DBC-BAMF points are earned by final round appearances of any event listed within our schedule below.

In the effort to keep the point tracking simple and fair, “BAMF Points” will be awarded based on a formula that involves the type of event, event size and national recognition.

Competitors of sanctioned events listed below do not need to do anything to sign up for the program, we will automatically reward points throughout the season to winners and runner-ups at events on the DBC-BAMF schedule. At the end of the year, points will determine the DBC-BAMF Sportsman Racer of the Year.

Qualifying Events / Points

Win: 2 – R/U: 1

– All classes must have a minimum of 16 bikes to earn points for that event.
– All classes that have 8 or more rounds of competition will earn the winner and runner-up a bonus point.
– Year-end series champions also earn 4 bonus points.

RULES

• Participants MUST have the Dragbike.com decal on their bike to be eligible for prizes, photo proof required. E-mail us your address if you need them.
• In the event of a tie for the top spot, we will then take into consideration the following criteria, series championship(s), event wins and how many different classes the racer has garnered points in.
• Track Champions are responsible for emailing us notification of their championship along with proof to bamf@dragbike.com. Track points programs must be well documented all year on the track website.
