Elyse McKinnon Update – Stupid Fast Progress
Elyse is continuing to improve after her accident at I-29 Dragway on June 26th.

She just passed the midway point of the healing phase for her back. The Neurosurgeon had current x-rays taken of her back and all of her new hardware looks good. The broken bone in her leg was a big concern to her Ortho Doctor but the new x-ray shows that it is healing nicely. He also got her knee moving again with physical therapy and then was able to check the ligament tears.
After testing he says there’s currently only a 10% chance of needing knee surgery. Due to the great improvements and increased mobility with her knee she was upgraded from her walker to a cane and her physical therapist is already working with her on not using the cane at home.
She still has a long way to go rebuilding her strength and energy but the steady progress is very encouraging. Elyse feels truly encouraged to have the drag racing community supporting her and is so thankful for the encouraging words, visits from fellow racers, and support on gofundme.
